A late entry for Illustration Friday. The word this week is skyline…
This image was inspired by my previous post.
Since then the weather hasn’t improved much and the building still seems enveloped by a giant cloud. Suppose that’s what you get when you go and live in the docks…

Daphne says:Ta Lou! I’m afraid that stupid cloud isn’t going anywhere in real life either, it is meant to be summer, but in Scotland it seems mostly autumn…

Daphne says:Thanks everyone! Ha Ha!
Sweet pea, I see what you mean about the cloud being animated, that would be cool, though seeing as I’ve been spending the past few weeks working on an animation and painstakingly hand-painting endless ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ scenes, I really couldn’t think of anything more nightmarish either…!

Daphne says:Mija, Thanks for your sunshine wishes,I’m glad to announce that today the sun came out for nearly an hour! It’s a shame it was six in the morning but nevermind…
I hope the weather is good where you are!Johanna Kim, If you scroll down to a post entitled ‘skiving’, you will find a little link under the word ‘animators’. Me and a bunch of other folk been working on a film called ‘Crow Moon’ by friend and animator Selina Cobley which will hopefully premier at the Edinburgh Film festival this August.
And thanks mrs. P Print! Glad you had a second look…hi hi!

Daphne says:Thanks to everyone for leaving a comment!
Oh, constant thing, I saw that film and it looked beautiful! Thanks for the comparison. If you like that film you’ll also enjoy my favourite Ghibli film ‘My neighbour Totoro’. If you’ve seen it you’ll know, if not, I really recommend it….(The story not nearly as garbled in this film that in Howl’s.. which really skrewed that up.)

Lou Hamilton says:
Very cute. I like the expression onthe face and the body position. Sort of like, “I don’t think I’ll be moving anytime soon.”
Nice one!
