I turned the living room into a temporary florist as I prepared the table settings and bouquet.

We got married on 30-11-11 at 11:30 in the oldest room at Haarlem townhall.

Two roses in the bouquet to represent the twins I’m carrying.

The shoes I wore as a bridesmaid to the wedding of dear friends.

A lovely lunch was enjoyed with a small group of friends and family after the ceremony.

Our honeymoon on ‘de Veluwe’.

The luxury hotel’s Christmas decorations were sparse, thankfully.

Reflection of my husband…

Autumn! A weekend away with my future in-laws.
Visiting a non-existent island.
Finding rest and recuperation from the twin pregnancy with hotel baths and breakfasts, a ‘pretty woman’ style shopping spree and fancy restaurants.
Back home greeted by stunning Dahlia’s (and a glimpse of our wedding invitation!:D) JOY!

I have been very busy working on TWO big projects…
and these first couple of months have left me too tired to work on anything else.
I don’t mind because I already know these twins are going to be the best thing I’ll have ever done.

I have found time in between eating and sleeping to dye some romper-suits though, cause who wants boring white?

On a short sojourn to the country we visited the rarest bunch of monkeys this side of the world. The amazing Proboscis monkey is a sight to behold not just for it’s nose but also because they sport a crimson red erection…(not pictured!)
Some monkeys look like they read the paper and other monkeys look like they have and extra set of limbs. Curiouser and curiouser…

“It’s my party and it can rain if it wants to…”

cause there’s plenty of cake…
I celebrated my 36th birthday over the weekend.

It started out with a request from my boyfriend to liven up a door.
When asked what he would like to see, the reply was simply ‘jungle’.
I got me a lovely chalk marker and have started an ongoing doodle on the garden-door to which I’ll try and add something bit by bit when it’s sunny enough to sit there…

Suddenly aware of the spate of white flowers on this blog, perhaps a subconscious running theme… Like party hats.

After six months of driving lessons, a theory test and just one driving exam I am now the proud owner of a pink pass that allows me to drive a car without an extra set of brakes.
Today, for the first time, I drove myself where ‘I’ wanted to go.
Ah, the sweet taste of freedom.

Taxidermy is a strange thing which fascinates me as much as it repels me.
I’ve never been able to make up my mind about it.
On one hand I’m appreciative of being able to closely study a creature which would never, in it’s right mind, let you get this close.
Whilst on the other hand, it is now irrevocably dead.
I’m glad there are people who only mount the birds that have been found and died of natural causes instead of shot or caught.
