Okay, okay, so this isn’t very necessary but I couldn’t help myself after I found a cheap tin of paint in the supermarket and thought….ah well. (This, by the way is a mistake I have made many times before…It seems cheap paint is something of a lure, like cheap booze is to many other people. Both, I know, are BAD to buy…)

So there I was that same afternoon mixing through a selection of colourful leftovers from painting-projects past. I really don’t like pure white paint and always mix through a little colour just to take the edge off it’s harsh brilliance.

And here I am a few days later, high on fumes, not being able to leave it to just one room. Working out schemes so that we’ll still be able to get to the bathroom and kitchen etc. without getting stuck on sticky wet paint…
I went back to the same supermarket for a second tin.
The tin did say “not recommended for large surfaces” and I guess that may include all the floorboards in the house… I sure am glad I did wake up again this morning. And I am hoping those freaky dreams are just fume induced…

cally says:Hiya Daphne!
I’m puzzled, I’ve been checking your blog every few days but there was nothing showing. Then I checked just now and there are loads of posts since the 16th!So anyway, they all look great, the paint colours, the crumpets and tarts, the snow. So glad you are having an ok January in your new place. And trust me, if I’d known about those tarts I’d have abondoned the allergy concerns and offered my assistance on the spot :0) they looked SO yummy.
Do you like dogs? I can’t remember. I was thinking when the weather is nicer (like summery!) we could go to the beach with Marley.

Daphne says:I must admit I’m more inclined to stop in the street to greet felines, but have been know to have thrown the occasional stick for friendly canines. Any dog whose name I know is a friend of mine. So that’s a date Missus!
